50 grams brown sugar
50 grams butter, softened
100 grams all-purpose flour and 3 tablespoon flour
2 apples, sliced
50 grams white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
10 caramels, halved
2 tablespoons milk
Methods
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- For make Taffy, stir brown sugar, melted butter and flour in a bowl.
- For make Apple Filling, Mix sliced apples, white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
- Spoon half of apple filling into pastry-lined deep-dish pan. Top with half of caramels and half of taffy mixture. Repeat process with remaining apple filling, caramels and taffy mixture. Place top pastry over filling and seal well.
- Cut steam vents and brush top crust with milk or light cream.
- Cover pie with foil and place on a baking sheet.
- Place into preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil from pie and bake for another 25 minutes, until crust is golden.
- Slice to serve. Enjoy it!
