Baklava


Ingredients

For Filling
1 cup Almonds, Chopped
½ cup Walnuts, Chopped
½ cup Pistachios, Chopped
½ cup Caster Sugar
1 cup Butter, Melted
1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
¼ tsp Ground Clove

For Sugar Syrup
1 cup Water
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
2 ½ tbsp Honey
1 Cinnamon

For Cover
1 Package Filo Pastry Dough Sheets

Directions
Step 1: Take a bowl, combined almonds, pistachios, walnuts, caster sugar, ground clove and cinnamon powder. Mix well and keep aside the bowl

Step 2: Boil water into a pan to make sugar syrup, add cinnamon, honey and lemon juice. Bring it to the boil. Turn off heat and let it cool

Step 3: Preheat the oven at 175 degree C. Brush the 9×13 pan with butter. Brush each filo pastry sheet with melted butter. Lay 3 greased sheets one by one in the pan and spread the filling mixture over the top of the sheet and covered with 3 greased filo pastry dough sheets. Keep repeating with remaining mixture and sheets

Step 4: Add 8 layers one by one on the top to cover stuffed sheets. Place the pan in oven and Bake stuffed sheets until the top turns to golden-brown then remove from the oven

Step 5: Pour the prepared sugar syrup over the baklava. Cut into small diamond shapes and serve
